Welcome back to the Big Board.

Welcome back to the One Foot Down recruiting Big Board for Fighting Irish football. Many prospects have come off the board recently as recruiting season has heated up around the country, so we're switching to doing sides of the ball instead of position groups.

Eric Cuffee took an official visit for the Texas game. He seems to have enjoyed himself, but getting him to leave Texas might prove too difficult. He has a couple of visits to Texas A&M lined up and another to Texas.

Damar Hamlin had some complimentary things to say about the Ohio State coaching staff lately, but also scheduled an official visit for the USC game. This race is still far too close to call between Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Pitt.

Lamar Jackson scratched his intended visit for Texas and has said he wants to reschedule. We shall see.

Elite talent Trayvon Mullen has yet to name an official leader, but has recently seemed to be drifting towards Florida State with a just-concluded visit and another scheduled.

Donte Vaughn took his official visit for the Texas game and could be all but locked up for Notre Dame at this point. He'll announce his decision on his birthday, October 12th - get your popcorn read, Irish fans.

Jumbo DB target JoeJuan Williams, who has been trending to Vandy, just took an official to Tennessee. Probably not the best game, but keep in mind that Manti visited Notre Dame for the Syracuse game in 2008 and committed anyway. So you never know.

Off the Board

Byron Murphy, as expected, announced a final group that did not include the Irish.

Californian Brandon Burton just cancelled a planned official visit to Ohio State - that could mean a lot or nothing, as usual. He's still on track to visit Notre Dame for the USC game.

DJ Morgan had a great time on his official visit for Texas. Interestingly, the staff could be looking at him as a hybrid S/LB prospect - he certainly has the size to slide down a bit.

Ikenna Okeke is also slated to visit for the USC game. Like JoeJuan Williams, he was scheduled to visit the Vols for their game against the Sooners this week.

Georgian Nigel Warrior intends to visit Notre Dame, but in the meantime the Vols legacy was also in Tennessee this past weekend. The gut feeling here is that the Irish are included among his finalists to get to..

Off the Board

No cuts or departures to share.

Inside Linebacker
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.938 Dontavious Jackson TX 6-2/239 Cold

Entering the Field:

No new offers were extended to inside linebackers since our last update.

In Play:

Dontavious Jackson hasn't officially made any cuts beyond his top twelve, which the Irish made, but the only official visits he has lined up are Florida State, UCLA, and Michigan, per Scout.

Off the Board:

No commitments or eliminations to report.

Outside Linebacker
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.988 Ben Davis AL 6-4/230 Cold
.871 Aaron Hansford DC 6-2/210 Cold
.989 Caleb Kelly CA 6-3/215 Cold

Entering the Field:

No new offers to report.

In Play:

Five-star Alabama legacy Ben Davis will be in Tuscaloosa for the Tide's game with the Running Rebels.

Aaron Hansford will visit for the Georgia Tech game with his father, and possibly some other family members as well. Always a good sign..

Caleb Kelly is still on track to make it to ND for the football banquet. Interesting tidbit: His coach, Tony Perry, who often seems to funnel kids to Oklahoma, is very much interested in Notre Dame too. Maybe he's not such a bad guy after all.

Off the Board:

No new commitments or eliminations to report.

Defensive Tackle
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.999 Rashan Gary NJ 6-4/290 Cold
.977 Antwuan Jackson GA 6-2/285 Cold
.990 Dexter Lawrence NC 6-5/310 Cold

New On The Scene:

No new offers on the inside.

In Play:

ISD reports that Rashan Gary will potentially take an official visit to Notre Dame in December. Rumor has it that there are certain people close to him that want him to at least check Notre Dame out, but even if he does, it seems like the Irish would have to be playing from well behind..

Antwuan Jackson just visited Ohio State; the Buckeyes are trending big time right now for him..

Dexter Lawrence has visited North Carolina State three times in the last couple of months. Feel free to connect the dots there.

Off the Board:

No commitments to report on the inside.

Defensive End
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.992 Oluwole Betiku CA 6-3.5/240 Cold
.871 Antonneous Clayton GA 6-4/218 Cold
.946 Daelin Hayes MI 6-4/250 Mild
.896 Carlo Kemp CO 6-3/255 Warm
.952 Justin Madubuike TX 6-3/255 Cold

New On The Scene:

No new offers to report.

In Play:

Oluwole Betiku remains on track to visit for the USC game along with teammate Brandon Burton.

Everybody's favorite on-again/off-again DE bromance target, Daelin Hayes, just finished an unofficial visit for the Texas game and came away very impressed. As did his mother, who joined him on campus for the first time. A potential decommit from USC seems a formality at this point.

Carlo Kemp told Scout that he'll take an official visit to Michigan when they play BYU and to Notre Dame when they play Navy. It's the All-Independent schedule! Kemp also intends to take official visits to UCLA and Colorado.

Off the Board:

No commitments or eliminations to report.
