Kyree Campbell and Christian Colon have been re-classified as defensive ends - turns out that's where the Irish staff has been recruiting them.
New On The Scene:
No new offers on the inside.
In Play:
#1 overall prospect Rashan Gary has said that he'll visit Notre Dame this summer with his mother, but has yet to lock in a visit. He and Irish commit Parker Boudreaux just had some epic battles at the Opening that got a bit heated at times - one could imagine/dream they would have a lot of fun going at each other in practice.
Antwuan Jackson made an unofficial visit with his coach and teammates the week after Irish Invasion. He tweeted his top 10 schools in order on Independence Day, and unfortunately Notre Dame did not make the list. His co-leaders are Auburn and Ohio State.
Dexter Lawrence is visiting Alabama as we speak, but is rumored to favor North Carolina State at the moment. True, he's a Carolina kid, but... Much like Ed Oliver and Jordan Elliot's commitments to Houston, I don't get it. I also can't really knock a kid for wanting to stay home. Also, not February 3rd yet.
Off the Board:
No commitments to report on the inside.

New On The Scene:
Ade Ogundeji, a prospect who has been rocketing up coaches' boards since the evaluation period, picked up an Irish offer since our last position group update. The one-time Western Michigan commit pledged to the Irish Thursday after discussing his options with his parents. Oregon, Cal, Rutgers, and Pitt had all also offered over the last month.
In Play:
McTelvin Agim talked to Scout at the opening (free) and said his top four teams are Arkansas, Baylor, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.
Oluwole Betiku keeps climbing the national rankings, sitting at #17 overall now in the 247 Composite after absolutely terrorizing opponents at The Opening. Betiku talked to Scout at the Opening (free) and said he intends to take an official visit to Notre Dame. He goes to USC pipeline Junipero Serra and he has significant ties to Penn State and UCLA, but he's a different kid and he might actually be considering the Irish. He had this to say at The Opening when discussing what sets Notre Dame apart: "When you see someone who went to Notre Dame, they won't be saying 'I'm here so I don't get fined,' or stuff like that. They do interviews like a white-collar guy."
Also, here's a picture of him with Ndamukong Suh. No further comment necessary.

Amani Bledsoe will take official visits to Oregon and UCLA and... maybe some other places. Probably not Notre Dame, though.
Five-star Nick Bosa, Ohio State star Joey's "little" brother, just visited Florida with his teammate and current Gator commit Jake Allen, one of the top quarterbacks in the 2017 cycle. He had fun, which could mean something, but probably not, but maybe.
Brian Burns just told Rivals that the Irish could get a visit this summer ($). has said he might visit Notre Dame this summer, but time is running out. And he has visited LSU and Auburn in the past week, so...
Kyree Campbell told 247 that he's nearing a decision - but he said that before he picked up an Alabama offer, which may have muddied the waters. Regardless, Notre Dame didn't make his finalists.
Georgian Antonneous Clayton had planned to visit for Irish Invasion but never made it. Auburn is probably his leader and, even if he doesn't end up there, it's hard to imagine him landing outside the South.
Xavier Kelly visited in June and had very high praise for the experience - and about two weeks later he tweeted a top eight list without Notre Dame. Paraphrasing the old saying a bit, put faith in your interpretations of none of what you hear and half of what you see.
Carlo Kemp, the top player in Colorado and the nephew of NFL coaches Chuck and John Pagano, will take an official visit to South Bend this fall according to 247 ($). Kemp is a lifelong Irish fan who might not be able to leave campus without committing.
There's a lot of smoke that Justin Madubuike intends to take an official visit to Notre Dame, but Justin himself is fairly quiet. In early June he told Scout that he "definitely" wants to visit Notre Dame (free) and he also said that he intends to take his time after watching two teammates flip last year.
Off the Board:
Quayshon Alexander had committed to Nebraska and then backed off his pledge to think about his options; he recently re-committed to the Huskers and shut things down.
In our last update we noted that Andre Anthony picked up an LSU offer that he really wanted - and sure enough, he committed to the Tigers a couple of weeks later.
Christian Colon pledged to Penn State.
North Carolina product Tomon Fox favored the Tarheels but the Irish gained some late traction with an offer after the evaluation period. It wasn't quite enough to change things, though, as Fox cancelled a planned visit for Irish Invasion and committed to North Carolina.
New Jerseyan Ron Johnson, as expected, committed to Michigan.
Detroit star Khalid Kareem committed to Alabama. Yes, it's the Evil Empire, and he had shown some real interest in us, but even so it was absolutely delicious - because Michigan fans thought he was in the bag and were shocked, SHOCKED I say, that he chose the Tide. Schadenfreude is so tasty, particularly when spooned warm over roast wolverine.
