The Irish are in strong shape with the big fellas.

Welcome back to the One Foot Down recruiting Big Board for Fighting Irish football.

Tight End
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.906 Cary Angeline PA 6-7/230 Mild
.923 Luke Farrell OH 6-6/240 Mild

New This Week:

Four-star Ohio prospect Luke Farrell finally earned an Irish offer - those among our readers who are (too) dedicated to recruiting may remember he attended Irish Invasion last summer and has always shown interest. Farrrell is in the Luatua tight end mold, a bruising in-line blocker who could add some oomph to the ground game.

In Play:

Cary Angeline just picked up an offer from Florida last week, but there's no indication that this is anything other than a three-team race between Notre Dame, Penn State, and Miami.

With potential signing day roster numbers this cycle, it seems highly unlikely the Irish would take two ends. So why the offer to Farrell? Our best guess is that the staff is covering its bases - many thought Angeline would've decided by now, and the staff can't afford to wait on him forever. Also, Farrell is a high-motor defensive end and the staff could see him as a swing Big Skill prospect; if that's the case, taking Angeline and Farrell becomes more explainable.

Off the Board:

No commitments elsewhere to report.

Offensive Line
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.988 Willie Allen LA 6-7/300 Cold
.891 Parker Boudreaux FL 6-4/287 Mild
.985 Ben Bredeson WI 6-5/293 Mild
.872 Stewart Reese FL 6-5/348 Cold

New This Week:

No new offers as the Irish staff continues to work hard - and feel good about their chances - to close out their dream class.

In Play:

Willie Allen, who is a very strong bet to stay in the South, just visited Ole Miss. Wonder if he came back home a little heavier...

Larz-approved mauler Parker Boudreaux recently visited Florida and was very impressed. Will it be enough to push them into the race with Clemson, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame? Boudreaux will take a mid-week visit to Notre Dame next week with his family; the Irish are the only school in his top group that he hasn't visited, so this is a big chance to make a move.

Ben Bredeson just got a bump up to #49 in the updated Rivals rankings. As ISD notes, the staff feels really good about their chances here.

Stewart Reese recently broke down his top schools and Notre Dame is very much in the picture. As noted in the last Big Board, he'll attend Irish Invasion and will see for himself if his perception about the Notre Dame environment is accurate. Spoiler: it is, and that's a good thing.

Off the Board:

Again, no commitments elsewhere to report this week.
