While there was a bit of controversy surrounding the Irish men's team's seeding in the NCAA Tournament, there was no such drama for Muffet's squad. As expected, Notre Dame was deemed the #2 overall seed, and received a 1 seed on the opposite side of the bracket of UConn. This season, the top 16 teams in the tournament will host first and second round games. This means Purcell Pavilion will host three games later in the week, two on Friday and one on Sunday. The Irish will take on 16 seed Montana on Friday evening at 7:30 PM ET. The game will be televised on ESPN2. If they advance, Notre Dame will face the winner of #9 DePaul and #8 Minnesota who play at 5:00 ET right before ND takes the court. The Irish were taken to overtime by the Blue Demons earlier in the season, but prevailed 94-93. ND did not face Minnesota in the regular season. The NCAA has yet to announce times or networks for second round games, but we know it will take place on Sunday. Should the Irish win their first two games, they'll travel to Oklahoma City for the second weekend of the tournament. If seeds hold true, the Irish will face #4 Stanford in the Sweet Sixteen, and then #2 Baylor in the Elite Eight. The Irish have reached the last four Final Fours, and will hope to get to Tampa for this year's edition. The full bracket can be found here, while all of the matchups in the Oklahoma City region are below.
