The depth chart goes up late today but better late than never.
The major news for this week is the first half suspension of Elijah Shumate who is forced to sit out due to a targeting call late in last week's game against Temple. The plan heading into Saturday is to keep Max Redfield at free safety and move Matthias Farley to strong safety.
If there's an injury to either safety there's some real concern about who would take the field. We've talked enough about Baratti really failing in a key moment last week and I don't know if the staff can trust him right now. If they do let's hope he gets a shot at redemption.
At the tight end position Chase Hounshell has been playing more lately. Last week he logged 17 snaps, the same amount as Alize Jones.
Amir Carlisle played more in the slot to start the season but he's been splitting time with Hunter for a month or so. They both played 31 snaps last week.
We forgot to mention last week that safety Avery Sebastian's foot is not healing as expected and may not play again this season. Brian Kelly said they will explore the possibility of a 6th-year of eligibility.
Scholarships and roster depth post coming next week!
