Well, the Irish stay at No. 4 for another week. For the most part things are staying pretty consistent with what the committee has been doing so far this year.

The Top 5 has all stayed the same since last week. With all the talk about the Big 12 the gap between Iowa and Notre Dame is probably a lot closer than most think right now. Although committee chairman once again said they spent a long time ranking teams 5 through 7 which would indicate the Irish are solid at No. 4 right now.

There were some discussions about Alabama supplanting Clemson as the No. 1 team in the rankings.

Neither Stanford or Baylor fell that far after suffering losses. That feels like a wash for Notre Dame, although TCU dropping to No. 18 is not great news for the Big 12. Especially if Boykin can't play the Frogs could lose 3 out of their last 4 games--with a slobberknocker to Kansas thrown in--and really hurt the other Big 12 team's ability to pick up a huge win on their resume.

Lots of talk about North Carolina who is creeping up the rankings and could potentially upset Clemson in the ACC Title Game. The Heels still need to win road games at Va Tech and NC State, though.
