Welcome back the OFD Recruiting Big Board.

Quarterback
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.849 Jayru Campbell MI 6-3/190 Cold

It's been 6 weeks since our last update at quarterback and on the last day in July former Notre Dame target (FL) Deondre Francois .941 gave a verbal to Florida State.

Technically Jayru Campbell is still on the board as is athlete Torrance Gibson but neither are being pursued by the Notre Dame coaching staff. All indications out of South Bend are that the 2015 class is going to be skipped as they pursue major targets in 2016, namely Malik Henry who is coming off yet another visit to campus this past weekend.

Henry is currently the top rated quarterback for the 2016 class and could be very close to a decision. Many insiders believe the Irish are in the drivers seat.

Also, please note that the Irish have given a scholarship to redshirt junior Charlie Fiessinger and freshman Montgomery VanGorder, son of new defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder.

Running Back

.918 Tyreik Gray TX 5-11/187 Cold
.987 Damien Harris KY 5-11/205 Cold
.935 Nyheim Hines NC 5-9/187 Cold
.976 Soso Jamabo TX 6-3/210 Hot
.889 Paul Lucas AZ 5-10/165 Cold
.934 Kirk Merritt LA 5-11/206 Cold
.978 Jacques Patrick FL 6-1/220 Cold

Also in late July the USC Trojans went into Texas and picked up a verbal from (TX) Aca'Cedric Ware .863.

At one point (SC) Ty'Son Williams .901 was very high on Notre Dame but he never made it to campus. On July 29th, he gave his verbal to North Carolina instead.

Florida State added to their backfield in recruiting by picking up (NC) Johnny Frazier .965 about a month ago.

The most recent running back off the board was (CA) Malik Lovette .921 who gave a committment to Oregon at the start of the month.

The picture at running back is rather clear right now and it appears SoSo Jamabo is the being zeroed in as the final piece to the puzzle for this class at this position. The tall back capped off an incredible Friday night performance going for 484 yards on 31 carries with 6 touchdowns before flying to Notre Dame on Saturday for the Michigan game.

Most think the Irish have a good lead for Jamabo, although following his visit he has reiterated that he'll be taking visits to UCLA, Baylor, A&M, and Oregon. He could pop for the Irish at some point over the next month but I've had a feeling that several other suitors would turn up the heat eventually and he'd have a tough decision to make.

Athlete
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.982 Torrance Gibson FL 6-4/200 Cold
.915 Tim Irvin FL 5-9/186 Cold
.942 Donte Jackson LA 5-11/175 Cold
.954 Stanley Norman CA 6-0/180 Cold
.887 Cameron Scarlett OR 6-1/195 Mild

A pair of athletes made their college decisions since our last update. First up was (TX) John Humphrey .876 committed to Oklahoma.

The second verbal was (FL) Ray-Ray McCloud .956 who committed to Clemson on July 28th. There has been some talk about him being courted by Florida lately so keep that in mind if you so choose.

The only athlete on Notre Dame's radar right now is the top prospect in Oregon. Cameron Scarlett has the Irish in his top 5 along with Stanford, Oregon, UCLA, and Washington and has scheduled an official visit to South Bend for the North Carolina game.
