The Irish may have to wait a few months before getting any verbals from these players.

Welcome back to the OFD Big Board for September 23, 2014.

Defensive Tackle
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.905 Darrion Daniels TX 6-3/290 Cold
.950 Neville Gallimore ON 6-3/300 Cold
.991 Rasheem Green CA 6-5/275 Cold
.961 Albert Huggins SC 6-3/279 Cold
.962 Tim Settle VA 6-3/339 Cold
.980 Shy Tuttle NC 6-3/315 Cold
.970 Christian Wilkins CT 6-4/290 Mild
.908 Joseph Wicker CA 6-4/265 Mild

The only tackle off the board since our last update has been (VA) Darvin Taylor .925 who gave a verbal to Florida State at the end of August.

Notre Dame has tried to stay in the race with Neville Gallimore but has never been able to secure a visit from the Canadian product. Now, coming off a visit to Oklahoma he's named a top 5 and it does not include the Irish.

The Sooners are in the mix with Ohio State, Oregon, Florida, and Florida State.

Notre Dame remains in the mix with Christian Wilkins who is tentatively setting up official visits to Ohio State, Stanford, Penn State, Clemson, in addition to a trip to South Bend.

Ohio State and Penn State have long been considered the favorites for Wilkins so we'll see if the Irish can make a play if he indeed visits campus.

No new updates on Joseph Wicker who has said he'll take an official visit to Notre Dame but has not set that trip up yet.

Defensive End
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.997 Byron Cowart FL 6-4/250 Cold
.997 CeCe Jefferson FL 6-2/250 Cold
.972 Canton Kaumatule HI 6-7/290 Cold
.988 Keisean Lucier-South CA 6-5/225 Cold
.999 Josh Sweat VA 6-4/240 Cold
.903 Darrell Taylor VA 6-4/220 Cold

The lone commit at defensive end was (NC) Darian Roseboro .948 who gave a verbal to Michigan just under a month ago.

One of item of note is that Josh Sweat, now the Composite top recruit in the country, suffered a dislocated knee cap in his high school game this past weekend.

The Irish hoped to be a player with mega-recruit Byron Cowart but he is down to five teams without Notre Dame among his favorites. Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Oregon, and Alabama are his finalists while he's pushed back his commit date (September 28th) to the Under Armour Game in January.

More bad news as Notre Dame hoped to make headway with Keisean Lucier-South but he's named a top five that includes UCLA, Oregon, Oklahoma, Michigan, and Florida. He's coming off a recent official visit to Norman and has scheduled visits to Ann Arbor and Eugene.

Inside Linebacker
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.920 Asmar Bilal IN 6-3/205 Hot
.880 Tevon Coney FL 6-1/222 Mild
.985 John Houston CA 6-3/211 Cold
.965 Leo Lewis MS 6-3/225 Cold

Weird news out of Tuscaloosa as Leo Lewis left Alabama's class a while back. He's still considering the Tide but Ole Miss and Mississippi State are now in the mix.

Every indication is that Tevon Coney is down to Florida and Notre Dame but he appears to be pushing back his commit date from sometime in the middle of his senior season to a later date.

Coney took an official visit to Notre Dame for the Michigan game and will be heading back to Florida for sure before making a decision. He also might be making trips to Miami and/or Ohio State, as well.

In-state star Asmar Bilal remains on the verge of committing to either Notre Dame or Michigan although his timeline for making such a decision is clouded in mystery.

Bilal was thought to have decided by now but will be visiting his two finalists yet again. However, he's been very quick to avoid the spotlight so this might take a while. If he shows up to Notre Dame for the Stanford game that'll be some good news.
