Wide Receiver/Tight End Miles Boykin (IL) Verbally Commits to Notre Dame!

Coach Brian Kelly received his 17th verbal commitment for the 2015 class today from WR/TE Miles Boykin (New Lenox, IL - Providence Catholic).  He is listed at 6'5"/208 lbs and reports a 4.41 40 yard dash per 247Sports.

Boykin most recently visited South Bend in the middle of June.  He chose Notre Dame over offers from Michigan State, Ohio State, Florida and Oregon.

Immediate Future:

Regardless of the position that Boykin ends up playing at the collegiate level, it is likely that he take a redshirt his first year on campus.  This is especially true if the staff wants him as a flex TE option, as he will need to add ~30 lbs.

Long Term/Career:

There is quite a bit of variability between sites on Boykin-he ranges from 6'3" to 6'5".  He is a big target and may be a slightly better fit at TE for this offense, assuming he can put on the additional weight.  His size makes him difficult to redirect at the prep level and he does a great job high-pointing the ball.  He should grow into and excellent red zone option as well as a good target to move the chains.  Overall, his size is a nice compliment to the other receivers in this class and should have a very productive career for the Irish.

Welcome to Notre Dame Miles!
