Welcome back to another edition of the One Foot Down Recruiting Big Board for Irish Football.

Outside Linebacker
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.960 Porter Gustin UT 6-5/240 Mild
.980 Jeffery Holland FL 6-2/230 Cold
.985 John Houston CA 6-3/211 Cold
.992 Malik Jefferson TX 6-2/225 Cold
.961 Osa Masina UT 6-4/230 Cold
.868 Arthur McGinnis LA 6-1/222 Cold
.879 Cassius Peat AZ 6-4/235 Cold
.860 Dominic Sheppard FL 6-2/223 Cold
.926 Adonis Thomas GA 6-4/215 Cold
.872 Bo Wallace LA 6-3/215 Mild

It was well covered here that (OH) Justin Hilliard .986 gave a verbal to Ohio State in a close race with Notre Dame.

Hilliard was at The Opening last week and was named to the All-Tournament Defense team.

Last month we said that the Irish were fading with (NJ) Manny Bowen .890 and he ultimately committed to Penn State shortly after our last post for this position group.

Not much of a new update with Porter Gustin who is still scheduled to visit for the Michigan game in September. He also made it to The Opening and impressed at the SPARQ training. Although listed as an outside linebacker he definitely fits the profile as a defensive end for the Irish.

Notre Dame appeared to be in the mix with Osa Masina but the Irish did not make his recent top five. He's down downgraded to Cold.

Cassius Peat was another western recruit who had Notre Dame in the mix at some point in the past but has seemingly eliminated the Irish from contention with a top 6 released in late June.

Adonis Thomas never made it to South Bend for the Irish Invasion and is coming off a visit to Alabama this past weekend. He's set to announce on August 1st and looks to be down to the Tide, Florida, and Georgia.

Things have been very quiet for Bo Wallace lately but he remains on Notre Dame's radar as another outside linebacker who could grow into a defensive end. He visited South Bend in early June and has been adamant that he'll be leaving the state of Louisiana for college. Like many John Curtis student-athletes he'll probably have a quiet recruitment during football season.

Corner
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.919 Micah Abernathy GA 6-1/185 Cold
.885 Josh Butler TX 5-11/175 Cold
.854 Carlton Davis FL 6-1/182 Cold
.920 Holton Hill TX 6-2/180 Cold
.995 Iman Marshall CA 6-1/190 Mild
.984 Tavarus McFadden FL 6-3/198 Cold
.901 Cameron Ordway TN 6-0/174 Cold
.950 John Reid PA 5-10/180 Mild
.992 Kendall Sheffield TX 5-11/180 Cold
.925 Darius Slayton GA 6-2/182 Cold
.922 Jordan Whitehead PA 6-0/180 Cold

We had a couple corners commit since our last update. The rival Trojans of USC picked up (CA) Isaiah Langley .958 last week. No surprise as (LA) Xavier Lewis .927 gave his pledge to in-state LSU recently, as well.

Iman Marshall has said several times in recent weeks that he'll be taking an official to Notre Dame and there's even some talk that he'll be visiting South Bend later this month. If he visits before the summer is over that is great and shows his interest but this will still be a huge battle for an athlete from Long Beach Poly in the heart of USC territory.

If Notre Dame takes another corner it probably won't be for a while as they work on Marshall and the other Mild target John Reid isn't deciding anytime soon.

Safety
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.958 DeChaun Holiday CA 6-2/195 Cold
.833 Denzel Johnson SC 6-2/187 Cold
.969 Marvell Tell CA 6-2/175 Cold
.878 Marcus Walker FL 6-0/176 Cold

Oregon picked up a commitment from (TX) P.J. Locke .862 on July 1st about 3 weeks after visiting Eugene.

A new offer by Notre Dame is Marcus Walker who was once committed to Kentucky but left their class in mid-April. However, he still has Kentucky as one of his leaders along with Arkansas. He's also recently visited Michigan State and likes the Spartans as well.

Not many options at the safety position right now.
