Coach Brian Kelly received his 10th verbal commitment for the 2015 class today from DE Micah Dew-Treadway (Bolingbrook, IL - Bolingbrook).  He is listed at 6'5"/275 lbs.

Dew-Treadway committed to the staff in person during his first visit to campus today.  He picked up his offer less than two weeks ago and chose the Irish over offers from Syracuse, Wisconsin, Mississippi State and Virginia.  Additionally, he will graduate in December and be an early enrollee at Notre Dame.

Impact:

Immediate Future:

As mentioned above, Dew-Treadway will be an early enrollee at Notre Dame.  The extra time working with Coach Longo to add/redistribute weight may give him the inside edge to challenge for some snaps as a true freshman.

Long Term/Career:

There is a lot to like about Dew-Treadway and his upside.  He is probably playing out of position at the prep level at DT, as I think he probably translates better to a DE at the college level.  He has a good feel for when to get his hands up in the throwing lanes as shown in his junior highlights.  Like all other prospects, he needs to work to refine his technique to be effective at the next level, but should grow into a steady force along the Irish defensive front.

Welcome to Notre Dame Micah!
