Coach Brian Kelly received his 8th verbal commitment for the 2015 class today from WR C.J. Sanders (Sherman Oaks, CA - Notre Dame). He is listed at 5'9"/177 lbs.
Sanders visited Notre Dame last weekend, after picking up an offer from the staff in March. He is transferring to Notre Dame High School from Brentwood Academy (TN) for his senior season. He chose Notre Dame over offers from USC, Tennessee, Georgia, Stanford and others.

Impact:
Immediate Future:
Sanders has instant impact written all over him-most likely on special teams as a punt and kick returner. He is electric in the open field and is a threat to score from any location on the field. He will have a difficult time breaking into a deep rotation at receiver as a true freshman, but has the potential to earn a few snaps as the season goes on.
Long Term/Career:
Sanders fits the mold as a true slot receiver, a position that has been underutilized during the Brian Kelly era. He has plenty of speed to stretch the field vertically, as he finished 2nd in the Tennessee state meet in the 100m as a sophomore (10.64). His father played collegiately at Ohio State and then for the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans franchise. With the bloodlines and talent shown so far, he has the potential to develop into an excellent offensive weapon during his time in South Bend.
Welcome to Notre Dame C.J.!
