Notre Dame has offered a pair of outside linebackers since our last update. The first we'll talk about is Porter Gustin from Salem, Utah. He's an incredibly versatile athlete who is absolutely blowing up on the national scene and recently zoomed right up the ranking system. He could play outside linebacker, defensive end, or tight end with his body-type. He has scheduled an official visit to Notre Dame for the Michigan game and may come to South Bend during the summer. Gustin is a Mormon and could take a LDS mission straight out of high school, so keep an eye out for that in his recruitment.

The other new offer is to Arthur McGinnis from New Orleans. He has top offers from A&M, UCLA, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Nebraska with Alabama and LSU sniffing around. McGinnis does plan on attending Notre Dame's Irish Invasion camp next month and if he follows through with that it'll be a very positive development.

If you recall, Justin Hilliard visited for the second time this spring for the Blue Gold Game. Obviously, he remains one of the staff's highest valued targets. He hasn't visited anywhere else except for a trip to Ohio State this past wekeend. Hilliard has mentioned he'll come out with a Top 5 soon and continue taking visits. Unless something earth shattering happens the Irish are still in very great shape here.

Osa Masina recently released a top 8 and the Irish made the cut.

He is planning on cutting the list down to 5 teams next month, taking OV's to those schools, and committing after his senior football season. Masina visited with his family last summer but hasn't been back to South Bend since.

Notre Dame has been waiting for a visit from Cassius Peat but it hasn't happened yet. He's still vocally very interested in the Irish and is trying to get here during the summer. He's visited hometown Arizona State twice recently and the Sun Devils have been all over him for a long time.

We received some good news lately when Adonis Thomas had Notre Dame in his Top 5 list. He is planning on attending the Irish Invasion camp and will be announcing a college decision in early August. The Irish may very well trail Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and LSU but we'll get a chance to make a move once he sees campus.

Notre Dame continues to be in the conversation with John Curtis High School's Bo Wallace. He's saying he'll visit in June for camp which is good news.

We've had a flurry of activity at corner since our last update. First up is (TX) Jaylon Lane .881 who committed to Oklahoma State. Elsewhere, (CA) Taeon Mason .888 was offered by Notre Dame but he has been committed to USC for a few months.

Another offer the Irish have thrown out there to a committed is prospect is (NC) Mook Reynolds .889 who is a verbal to Virginia Tech. He has said he'll visit Notre Dame this summer.

The Irish have also offered Darius Slayton and Carlton Davis and they make their appearance on the Big Board for the first time. Slayton was offered just a few days ago and his offer list is way better than his ranking. Davis was also recently offered last week and Miami is heavily favored for the Norland High athlete.

Isaiah Langley is taking things slow but we can report he was invited to The Opening over the weekend.

Someone hoping to make it to Irish Invasion is P.J. Mbanasor who has been quite since leaving TCU's class several month's ago.

John Reid visited Notre Dame in late March and was invited to The Opening in late April. He will decide after his senior season with the Irish among his favorites.

There is a developing situation with Michigan commit (OH) Shaun Crawford .952 who finally visited South Bend this past Sunday. The word is that he's always favored Notre Dame but didn't have an offer from the Irish until late February. For months there have been rumors of him trying to visit and they finally came to fruition this past weekend. Although there are some size concerns (5-9, 170 pounds) Notre Dame is willing to give him a shot at corner and is also open to the possibility of moving him to offense. Crawford is scheduled to visit Ohio State next weekend and may also check out Miami in the future as well. Don't be shocked if he flips to Notre Dame soon.

Safety
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.956 DeChaun Holiday CA 6-2/195 Cold
.849 PJ Locke TX 5-11/180 Cold
.983 Tarvarus McFadden FL 6-3/198 Cold
.969 Marvell Tell CA 6-2/175 Cold

There haven't been too many updates on DeChaun Holiday but he may take an official visit to Notre Dame. It's not believed the Irish are among his top two or three, though.

Everything else is really quiet at safety for the Irish. The only other update I have for today is that Marvell Tell was invited to The Opening over the weekend.
