TONY ALFORD IS GOING TO DO HIS THING, YA'LL.

Welcome back the OFD Recruiting Big Board. If you missed last month's post on these targeted positions you can catch up on that news RIGHT HERE.

Quarterback
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.992 Torrance Gibson FL 6-4/200 Cold
.988 Kyler Murray TX 5-11/170 Cold

Notre Dame is standing pat with 6 offered quarterbacks, 4 of which are committed. Only two of the country's best dual-threat signal callers remain on the Irish board.

Just a reminder that Notre Dame commit (CA) Blake Barnett .962 continues to impress in off-season camps and is now ranked the 78th best player in the country by the 247 Composite. Remember, he was the first quarterback chosen for this summer's Elite 11 camp after winning the MVP of the Los Angeles camp back in January.

Barnett also competed recently in the IMG 7v7 camp in Los Angeles and we have a highlight tape of his performance.

Lastly, both quarterbacks coach Matt LaFleur (now recruiting the West Coast for Notre Dame) and outside linebackers coach Bob Elliot were recently in California to watch Barnett throw as part of their typical spring period evaluation. The rising high school senior plans on coming to South Bend in late June for the Notre Dame summer camp now being called "Irish Invasion."

Running Back
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.894 Josh Adams PA 6-2/208 Mild
.923 Tyreik Gray TX 5-11/187 Cold
.988 Damien Harris KY 5-11/205 Cold
.972 SoSo Jamabo TX 6-3/210 Cold
.924 Malik Lovette CA 5-11/180 Cold
.892 Paul Lucas AZ 5-10/165 Cold
.917 Kirk Merritt LA 5-11/206 Cold
.977 Jacques Patrick FL 6-1/220 Cold
.875 T.J. Simmons FL 5-11/189 Cold
.953 Eric Swinney GA 5-10/188 Cold
.903 Ty'Son Williams SC 5-11/200 Mild

A few backs came off the board since our last update. The national reach of Oregon made an impressive move as (GA) Taj Griffin .974 gave a pledge to the Ducks on Friday.

Another player who committed recently was (TX) Ronald Jones II .963 giving his pledge to Oklahoma State. It was believed Notre Dame was in good position with Jones but he committed about a week after receiving an offer from the Irish.

The third player to commit was (FL) Dexter Williams .968 who was a big pickup by Miami as the second highest rated running back in the state of Florida.

Two  new recent offers went out to Tyreik Gray and Paul Lucas. Assistant coach Kerry Cooks was down to check in on Gray recently and he's holding top offers from Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, and Arizona State. Lucas is in contact with the staff and is one of the faster recruits in the country. His current top offers include both Arizona schools, Washington, UCLA, and Tennessee.

Simmons drops down to Cold after taking Notre Dame off his top list. Looks like the foreign language requirement muddied the process for the Floridian.

Ty'Son Williams recently named a top five of Notre Dame, North Carolina, South Carolina, Wisconsin, and Clemson. The staff recently visited him and he's become a big priority.

I would expect the heat to turn up on Josh Adams in the coming months. He was another player who was visited by the staff and he's planning on coming to camp at Notre Dame in June. Depending on his real height and ability he might be an option for defense but the staff would probably like to keep him at running back if possible.

Athlete
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.930 Derrick Dillon LA 5-11/180 Cold
.906 Tim Irvin FL 5-9/186 Cold
.912 Ray Ray McCloud FL 5-9/175 Cold
.964 Stanley Norman CA 6-0/180 Cold
.888 Cameron Scarlett OR 6-1/195 Cold

This position has been super busy over the past month as spring games were played all over the country. Four different athletes committed to schools including: (FL) Shawn Burgess-Becker .958 to Alabama, (FL) Jordan Cronkite .905 to Miami, (TX) John Humphrey .877 to Baylor, and (DC) Marcus Lewis .944 to Florida.

A new offer went out recently to Stanley "Scrappy" Norman but he'll be a tough pull of Junipero Serra High School in Los Angeles County.

Cameron Scarlett is another new offer and Notre Dame will have to compete with Oregon, Arizona, Arizona State, and Stanford for his attention right now.
