ADDING BODIES, LAYING A FOUNDATION

Welcome back to another edition of the One Foot Down Recruiting Big Board for Irish Football. Last week we looked at the front and middle of the defense and today we look at the outside and back end of this side of the ball.

Outside Linebacker
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.862 Manny Bowen NJ 6-3/206 Cold
.880 Tevon Coney FL 6-0/215 Cold
.989 Justin Hilliard OH 6-2/230 Mild
.982 Jeffery Holland FL 6-2/230 Cold
.987 John Houston CA 6-3/211 Cold
.992 Malik Jefferson TX 6-2/225 Cold
.961 Osa Masina UT 6-4/218 Mild
.889 Cassius Peat AZ 6-4/235 Mild
.857 Dominic Sheppard FL 6-1/223 Cold
.930 Adonis Thomas GA 6-4/215 Cold
.861 Bo Wallace LA 6-3/202 Cold

Manny Bowen and Tevon Coney are the new offers by Notre Dame since our last update. The former has a really great offer list compared to his player ranking, while the latter has said he may visit South Bend in the summer but has Florida and Clemson as his current leaders.

As of the most recent ranking updates Jeffery Holland lost his 5th star.

With our last update we talked about Justin Hilliard coming off his Junior Day visit to Notre Dame in addition to visits to Michigan and Ohio State. Since then, he visited Alabama and made a second trip back to South Bend for the Blue-Gold Game. Most experts think the Irish still lead.

Some interesting news as Cassius Peat was scheduled to come to Irish spring game but as far as I'm aware he never made the trip.

Adonis Thomas is someone the Notre Dame staff has liked for a long, long time. They are still behind schools like Florida and Georgia but the good news is that Thomas is scheduled to camp in South Bend in a couple months.

We may have mentioned this before but Bo Wallace has family in Chicago and reiterated that he will visit Notre Dame in the summer.

Corner
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.896 Micah Abernathy GA 6-1/185 Cold
.863 Josh Butler TX 5-11/175 Cold
.913 Holton Hill TX 6-2/180 Cold
.871 Jaylon Lane TX 6-1/177 Cold
.936 Isaiah Langley CA 5-11/170 Cold
.931 Xavier Lewis LA 6-0/175 Cold
.995 Iman Marshall CA 6-1/190 Cold
.899 Cameron Ordway TN 6-0/174 Cold
.921 PJ Mbanasor TX 6-1/176 Cold
.950 John Reid PA 5-10/180 Mild
.993 Kendall Sheffield TX 5-11/180 Cold
.925 Jordan Whitehead PA 6-0/180 Cold

Things are starting to get busy at corner. Very early in the process it looked like Notre Dame might be a player for (NJ) Minkah Fitzpatrick .985 but it never materialized. Recently he named Alabama his leader and committed to the Crimson Tide this past weekend at their spring game.

A curious decision by (FL) Rashard Causey .875 who was in the process of transferring from the University School to St. Thomas Aquinas after his head coach got a job at Florida Atlantic University. On Friday Causey committed to FAU.

Notre Dame handed out a trio of offers since our last update in Abernathy, Lane, and Ordway. Not much on Abernathy and Ordway other than the typical "I'd like to visit" talk. Jaylon Lane is planning on being on campus in June with PJ Mbanasor which is good news.

Reid remains the steady best shot for Notre Dame at corner. He's not deciding any time soon but the Irish are in a good spot heading into the summer.

Keep an eye out on Michigan commit (OH) Shaun Crawford .952 who nearly visited Notre Dame for the spring game and would have challenged Brady Hoke's "no visit" policy. Some experts expect him to eventually make it back to South Bend (he visited last summer) and for the Irish to be a player in his final decision.

Safety
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.956 DeChaun Holiday CA 6-2/195 Cold
.849 PJ Locke TX 5-11/180 Cold
.983 Tarvarus McFadden FL 6-3/198 Cold
.969 Marvell Tell CA 6-2/175 Cold

Prior to this month's update Notre Dame added two more members to the 2015 class in (NV) Nicco Fertitta .846 and (TX) Prentice McKinney .864. Fertitta visited earlier this month and McKinney made his first visit to campus for the spring game.

McKinney has scheduled his official visit back to Notre Dame for the Michigan game this fall.

The Irish commits aside, things have been pretty quiet at safety as most of the offers have already committed. The last item of note is that (FL) Ben Edwards .895 flipped from Ohio State to Auburn over the weekend.
