Welcome to the 2015 recruiting cycle, friends. Back in November we published a preview of the 2015 class and the progress the Notre Dame coaching staff was making with several prospects. Since then, Notre Dame has added the committments of quarterback Blake Barnett and center Tristen Hoge in addition to offensive tackle Jerry Tillery who committed last summer.
Back in November the Irish were sitting at 53 offers handed out for the 2015 class. As of today they are already up to 107 offers. For everyone's convenience the Big Board posts for this cycle will be broken up into grouping of a few positional units. This should make things more reader friendly and give us the opportunity to provide updates every week. Up first are the quarterbacks, running backs, and athletes.
Quarterback | |||||||||
Score | Player | State | Ht/Wt. | Temperature | 1* | 2* | 3* | 4* | 5* |
.992 | Torrance Gibson | FL | 6-4/200 | Cold
.981 | Kyler Murray | TX | 5-11/170 | Cold
.997 | Josh Rosen | CA | 6-4/205 | Cold
In our 2015 Preview before he was committed to Notre Dame, Blake Barnett was a high 3-star with a Composite score of .890, but right now he's moved all the up to .960 and is the 3rd best pro-style passer in the country. Yes, I know don't let the pro-style tag fool you Barnett probably has the best wheels of any Kelly recruit.
Barnett was at the Rivals camp in California this weekend showing his stuff.
There have been no other offers handed out at quarterback since November. However, a one-time Notre Dame lean in (IL) Jack Beneventi .880 decided to pull the trigger and accept a scholarship at Iowa.
As of right now (MI) Jayru Campbell .863 is still committed to Michigan State but that could change as he deals with a felony charge of assault stemming from an incident at his school in which Campbell body-slammed a security officer.
Josh Rosen, the Composite top quarterback in the country is deciding on March 20th and is expected to pick the UCLA Bruins.
As long as Barnett is part of the class Notre Dame will not actively recruit another quarterback.

.877 | T.J. Simmons | FL | 5-11/189 | Mild
.956 | Eric Swinney | GA | 5-10/188 | Cold
The only offer at running back who is committed right now is (LA) Nick Brossette .969 with LSU. During our 2015 preview in November Damien Harris was a member of Michigan's class but the Composite top running back in the country has since left the Wolverines.
The most recent offers at this position include Kirk Merritt, T.J. Simmons, and Eric Swinney. Out of that group Simmons is showing the most interest and plans on visiting this spring.
Notre Dame was in Josh Adams' top 3 a while ago but Penn State is going to push hard for him now that James Franklin is in Happy Valley. The Nittany Lions picked up a commitment from Andre Robinson late last week as well. He wasn't holding an offer from the Irish but there was plenty of mutual interest.
Notre Dame made Jacques Patrick's top 10 from a couple months ago while So So Jamabo has mentioned he'd like to visit South Bend in the summer.
Some players to watch out for to receive offers are (OH) Larry Scott .956, and (MO) Kellen Overstreet .833. The latter visited for Junior Day this past weekend, did not receiver an offer, but should be back in the summer to work out for the coaching staff.
Athlete | |||||||||
Score | Player | State | Ht/Wt. | Temperature | 1* | 2* | 3* | 4* | 5* |
.963 | Shawn Burgess-Becker | FL | 6-1/185 | Cold

.904 | Adonis Thomas | GA | 6-4/215 | Cold
.952 | Dexter Williams | FL | 6-0/192 | Mild |
Back in November the Irish only had 2 offers out to Athletes (per 247 Sports) and one player (GA) Terry Godwin .990 committed to Georgia, while the other, George Campbell, has since left Michigan's class. The Irish have been recruiting Campbell very hard for a long time and are trying to get a summer visit.
Shawn Burgess-Becker has one of the best offer lists in the country, plays primarily safety, and will be very tough to pull out of Florida. Louis Brown is a lanky outside linebacker-type who has most of the Big 12 and Oregon all over him.
Jordan Cronkite is a versatile and explosive athlete who may try to visit Ohio State and Notre Dame this spring. You can add Ray Ray McCloud as another versatile player who wants to see South Bend before the fall.
One player who is feeling Notre Dame big time is John Humphrey who has said the Irish are "top priority." He plans on visiting this spring and has a great relationship with Kerry Cooks.
Osa Masina visited Notre Dame last summer and really liked what he saw. He was visited by Bob Elliot in late January where he received an offer.
Dexter Williams was surprised by his offer from Notre Dame and has quickly developed a relationship with Tony Alford. He'll try to make it up to Notre Dame this summer.
There hasn't been much progress with Tim Irvin, and Adonis Thomas.
Some players to keep an eye out for to receive offers in the future are (MI) Brian Cole .972 and (MD) Jalen Christian .940, both of whom have visited campus in the past.
