2015 Notre Dame Recruiting Big Board: WR, TE, OL

The Irish are being picky at tight end and offensive line but not at receiver.

Joe Robbins

Welcome to the latest update to the Recruiting Big Board. If you missed last week's update at quarterback, running back, and athlete you can read it HERE. Today, we take a look at the three other positions on offense.

Wide Receiver
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.918 Miles Boykin IL 6-5/208 Mild
.962 Cordell Broadus NV 6-2/195 Mild
.946 Equanimeous St. Brown CA 6-4/190 Mild
.875 Michael Chigbu LA 6-2/211 Cold
.844 Kaleel Gaines FL 6-0/175 Cold
.860 Jaylen Guyton TX 6-0/180 Mild
.885 K.J. Hill AR 6-1/175 Mild
.983 Christian Kirk AZ 5-10/195 Cold
.930 Isaiah Langley CA 5-11/170 Cold
.928 Malik Lovette CA 5-11/180 Mild
.903 Ryan Newsome TX 5-9/173 Mild
.955 Alex Ofodile MO 6-3/185 Mild
.980 Calvin Ridley FL 6-2/170 Cold
.883 C.J. Sanders TN 5-9/177 Cold
.930 Carlos Strickland TX 6-5/194 Mild

This position has been a huge focus in terms of offers over the past several months. Back in November only Broadus, Gaines, and Kirk had offers from the Irish and now a dozen more prospects have been offered by Notre Dame.

Gaines and Kirk are at the opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of ranking and right now neither has shown interest in Notre Dame. Broadus transferred to Bishop Gorman this past fall and is expecting to take an official visit to Notre Dame this year.

Miles Boykin was one of the Junior Day visitors recently and he picked up an offer from Kelly & Co on March 1st. He has the Irish very high on his board and would be a safe bet to be one of the recruits to commit if he makes another visit to South Bend before summer arrives.

St. Brown is high on Notre Dame but needs to do some more research on the program. He's open to going far away for school and fits the profile Notre Dame is looking for out of a California prospect.

Hill plans on coming to the Blue Gold Game. Notre Dame is also expecting a visit from Lovette this spring as well. Newsome is another player very friendly with Notre Dame and trying to set up a visit in the future. Ofodile is a big target for the staff and is planning a visit in April.

Sanders was just recently offered last week. Not much to report there. Strickland was recently offered as well and seems very high on Notre Dame. He plans on visiting after spring.

Chigbu, Langley, and Ridley don't have much contact with Notre Dame right now, but keep an eye out on Langley.

Tight End
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.954 Devonaire Clarington FL 6-6/222 Cold
.939 Chris Clark CT 6-6/247 Mild

Notre Dame is usually very picky about their tight end offers and 2015 has been no different with a likely limit of 1 player being targeted to sign this cycle. Per our last update in November (TX) Jordan Davis .935 remains committed to Texas A&M. The Irish will likely keep in touch with Clarington but he's probably staying in Florida no matter what.

Months ago it was (NV) Alize Jones .975 who was atop Notre Dame's board (he's the top tight end in the country) but he committed to UCLA in late November. Don't expect the Irish to back off here though.

The newest offer has been to Clark and he's planning on visiting South Bend in late March. He's very high on Notre Dame but has a lot of good schools after him.

Offensive Line
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.963 Matthew Burrell VA 6-5/290 Cold
.972 Chuma Edoga GA 6-4/280 Cold
.957 Jake Fruhmorgen FL 6-5/280 Mild
.997 Martez Ivey FL 6-6/280 Cold
.912 Zach Robertson CA 6-5/308 Mild
.919 Reno Rosene CA 6-7/315 Mild

Notre Dame has had (LA) Jerry Tillery .949 committed to ND for a long time and since our last update (ID) Tristen Hoge .965 joined the class as well.

Notre Dame offered Florida State commit (FL) Kendrick Norton .904 about 2 weeks after he committed to the Seminoles.

(CA) Zach Okun .928 was believed to be pretty high on the Irish but he visited Eugene a couple weeks ago and gave his commitment to Oregon.

Edoga, and Ivey are the new offers since the end of the football season but not much is going on with them right now. Burrell has said nice things about ND but hasn't scheduled a visit to South Bend.

Robertson recently stated that Notre Dame is one of his favorites but he'll be a tough pull out of St. John Bosco with several Pac-12 schools giving him a lot of attention.

Fruhmorgen has visited Notre Dame in the past and is a big fan but things haven't progressed much since last summer. The same could be said for Rosene as well.
