Notre Dame will host several football commitment and a final few targets this weekend before the recruiting dead period begins on Monday. The awards banquet has historically been a successful recruiting tool for Notre Dame and continues to be for Brian Kelly and his staff.

Notes:

  • Hill received an offer from the Irish late last month, which came as a surprise to many. He had a phenomenal senior season, but is still flying a bit under the radar nationally. Many expect Texas to offer before NSD, in which case he would end up in Austin. Otherwise, the Irish may lead.
  • Notre Dame is thought to be the leader for Sykes, who flourished in his senior year after changing schools and positions (DE to LB).
  • Nelson is a similar athlete to Isaiah McKenzie and has visits scheduled to USC and West Virigina in January. Some experts think he might be a back-up plan to McKenzie, as it is unlikely that the Irish would take both.
