CAN BRIAN KELLY EVER MANUFACTURE OFFENSE WAS HE LYING?

Welcome to this week's Big Board for the offensive side of the ball.

Same update at quarterback as last month: DeShone Kizer remains the only Irish commit at quarterback while the rest of Notre Dame's offers at this position are committed to other schools. There does not appear to be any new offers on the horizon or the chance to flip another recruit.

Running Back
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.999 Leonard Fournette LA 6-1.5/226 Cold
.986 Joe Mixon CA 6-2/195 Cold
.942 Derrell Scott NC 5-11/180 Cold
.921 Donte Thomas-Williams NC 6-0/209 Mild

It appears that Notre Dame is no longer a realistic destination for the remaining running backs listed above.

Fournette will come down to Bama/LSU, Mixon has recently visited Oklahoma and Wisconsin and has both of those schools in his top two, Scott has an official to South Carolina next month where he's expected to sign, and Thomas-Williams is leaning towards West Virginia.

Wide Receiver
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.944 Johnnie Dixon FL 5-10/187 Cold
.990 Malachi Dupre LA 6-2/187 Cold
.973 Josh Malone TN 6-2/190 Mild
.986 Speedy Noil LA 5-10/176 Cold
.941 Trevion Thompson NC 6-2/177 Cold

Notre Dame had Isaiah McKenzie verbal over the weekend to give the program 3 wide receivers for this cycle.

The Irish appear out for the remaining prospects above. Dixon is coming off a visit to Miami and will visit Alabama next month. Dupre remains a LSU lean. Malone was at Ole Miss this past weekend and will visit Ohio State this weekend. Noil is looking hard at LSU and Texas A&M. Clemson has been hot after Thompson but he's visiting the Buckeyes this weekend.

Athlete
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.973 Budda Baker WA 5-9/174 Cold
.978 Michiah Quick CA 6-0/170 Mild
.990 Ju Ju Smith CA 6-1/200 Mild
.932 Nathan Starks CO 5-11/200 Cold

There were some rumors that Baker committed to Oregon but they were false alarms. The Ducks remain the favorite with UCLA and Washington.

Quick was at Notre Dame this weekend, as was Ju Ju Smith. The Irish have been in good position with Quick for a long time but it may be even more surprising how much they're trending for Smith right now.

Starks has transferred to Colorado and Notre Dame has remained in constant contact. He may still be a long shot due to his dismissal from Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas but if he gets the green light from admissions Notre Dame will be in his top group.

Tight End
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.949 Tyler Luatua CA 6-4/230 Mild
.948 Dalton Schultz UT 6-5/215 Cold

Luatua was part of the large group of official visitors in South Bend this weekend and most think he'll be Irish at some point. He offers some positional flexibility and could play linebacker for Notre Dame as well.

Schultz would probably seriously consider Notre Dame if they had more room available. Sadly, he might be out of the picture due to the numbers game.

Offensive Line
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Temperature 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.985 Damien Mama CA 6-4/370 Cold
.991 Damian Prince MD 6-6/300 Cold
.973 Braden Smith KS 6-6/290 Cold
.960 Casey Tucker AZ 6-6/270 Cold

A pair of offensive linemen committed since we last checked in as Donnell Stanley gave a verbal to South Carolina and Natrell Curtis gave a verbal to Washington.

Damien Mama was in South Bend this past weekend and enjoyed his visit. Recent updates really like Notre Dame's chances with Mama if fellow Californian prospects Luatua and JuJu Smith pull the trigger for Brian Kelly & Co.

Tucker, Prince, and Smith appear out with numbers tight (Mama is a must-take and can play defense) at offensive line and their recruitments cold, however, long-time Wisconsin commit George Panos visited Notre Dame over the weekend and there were some rumors that the Irish were interested in his services.

Irish Commits
Score Player State Ht/Wt. Position 1* 2* 3* 4* 5*
.907 DeShone Kizer OH 6-5/207 Quarterback
.941 Justin Brent IN 6-3/190 Wideout
.923 Corey Holmes FL 6-2/175 Wideout
.868 Isaiah McKenzie FL 5-9/172 Wideout
.877 Nic Weishar IL 6-5/223 Tight End
.900 Jimmy Byrne OH 6-4/290 Offensive Line
.930 Sam Mustipher MD 6-3/285 Offensive Line
.969 Quenton Nelson NJ 6-5/295 Offensive Line
.952 Alex Bars TN 6-6/287 Offensive Line

McKenzie joins the 2014 class giving the Irish a healthy 3 receivers in the class.

As it stands now we might only see 2 more verbals on offense and perhaps a third for a must-take recruit. Quarterback and running back appear finished, although the door is still open for the latter position.

Offensive line appears done so that leaves one receiver and one tight end. A couple of prospects committed to other schools (Erik Brown- Washington & Bo Scarborough- Alabama) remain targets after visits to South Bend this weekend.
