and does holding the laces matter?
I noticed, from the front page pictures of Burger's EG Blue and Gold game review and the starting announcement, that EG does not use the laces when throwing the ball. It might be a very old way of teaching, and I was never very good, but I was always taught to grip the laces to help get a good spin and zip on the ball. Not sure if this is taught as a necessary skill anymore.
Other examples from EG's high school and training camp show the same tendency to throw from the flat of the ball. Is this correctable, or does it even need to be corrected at this point? EG's HS stats and recruiting profile show an accurate passer with good control.
At the end, finally, some other jackmonkey QBs named Rodgers, Manning, and Marino. They use the laces.
