Football Food- Tasty Beverages

Over the course of the last several weeks we have discussed several great football food recipes. Like most of our regular posts this "Football Food" series started out as a bit of an experiment and has blossomed into a pretty good weekly discussion amongst the commentariat.

We are now heading into one of the most festive times of the year for all college football fans. As a result I thought this would be the appropriate time to discuss the beverages that we most like to enjoy with our college football viewing. As we stare down championship weekend, 35 bowl games, and the inevitable slew of holiday parties I thought some fresh suggestions on beverage choices would be something that we could all potentially benefit from.

Many of you mentioned assorted drinks in the Who are you? Why are you here? The commentariat meet & greet thread started by jpeters6 a few weeks back, but I felt like a discussion dedicated solely to said beverages was in order. By the way, if you never told us about yourself in that thread now would be a great time to do so.

This discussion isn't restricted to beer, wine, mixed drinks or even alcoholic beverages for that matter. If you prefer something along the lines of the Arnold Palmer then by all means tell us about it.

I'll get it started after the jump.

Contrary to my handle I have actually transitioned into being more of a beer guy over the last few years. I must be getting soft. Regardless, there are few things that I enjoy more than having a couple of beers, and to be honest I'm not real picky about it. I enjoy trying different beers and the company that tends to come with them. I have traveled quite a bit which has given me the opportunity to sample a pretty broad range of brews. But over the last few years my go-to choices belong to the Stone Brewing Company in North County San Diego. Stone got famous for their IPA but they have several other brews that I personally like even better. The brewery is local for me, which is quite convenient, but their beers are nationally distributed. It isn't cheap but it is well worth the price of admission. My favorite is their Arrogant Bastard Ale. Everything about AB is absolutely fantastic. They refer to it as "an aggressive ale" which I would say pretty much sums it up. AB is a must try for anyone that is partial to great beer.

Enjoy responsibly!
