#NotreDame tight end Kyle Rudolph out for the season. Will have surgery later this week

Sophomore Tyler Eifert & senior Mike Ragone will share time in filling in for injured #NotreDame tight end Kyle Rudolph.

A few more comments from the ISD Update Twitter Feed

Eifert injured his shoulder two weeks ago in practice and has done very little sense.

Eifert had a ligament sprain, different from AC joint sprain. It's very painful, but he has to play. "He'll have to tape an aspirin to it."

Kelly hasn't talked to Rudolph about any thoughts on going to NFL.

BK: "We're pretty convinced that Alex (Welch) is going to stay on scout team."

It sounds like it is time for Mike Ragone to step up and finally realize his potential. We can only hope that this will at least mean that a healthy Rudolph is playing for the Irish again in 2011.
