Scott Martin Granted 6th Year


After denying Tim Abromaitis' 6th year request last month, the NCAA has approved Scott Martin's request. Martin will return to the Fighting Irish this fall and anchor the team's defense while continuing to provide veteran leadership. After struggling for most of the early part of the season Martin stepped up his game midway through the conference schedule and became one of the top defenders not only in the conference but in the country. His return is good news for Fighting Irish fans everywhere

Tim Abromaitis' 6th Year Request Denied


Mike Brey and the team hoped to have the sweet shooting back for a 6th year but the NCAA denied his request and thus prevented Abromaitis from getting his 19th degree from Notre Dame. Abromaitis was a model student-athlete who deserved to go out on his own terms but with both a BBA and MBA already in hand from the prestigious Mendoza College of Business (shout out!), he probably already has Fortune 500 firms lining up for his services
