The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Georgia Bulldogs will kick off under clear skies, amidst a light breeze and temperatures in the low 70s, according to the latest Accuweather forecast.
There is no rain in the forecast, and the temperature is forecasted to drop between five and ten degrees between kickoff and the final gun at Sanford Stadium.
You can actually start tailgating before the sun rises in Athens, at which point it’s expected to be 57 degrees. It’ll creep up to 78 degrees by noon, and reach the day’s high of 85 about four hours before kickoff.
The sun will set at 7:32 p.m., about 45 minutes before kickoff which will help cool things down considerably. The high of 85 and low of 58 degrees is pretty typical for Athens on Sept. 21, although the thermometer reached 90 degrees last Sept. 21.
This is the Irish’s first Sept. 21 game on the road since 2002, when they played the Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing. How’d that one turn out?
Go Irish!
