On July 1st (CA) Travis Waller .961 committed to Oregon. He was scheduled to visit Notre Dame but upon receiving an offer from the Ducks decided to skip his trip to South Bend.
I am truly blessed to announce that I will be committing to the University of Oregon!! @ServiteSports @TrendsettersWW

Our update last month talked about (MI) Ryan Brand .820 and the possibility that he could be coming to Notre Dame as a preferred walk-on. The University of Detroit Jesuit High School product was invited to the Elite 11 a couple weeks ago and did quite well for himself. However, before making the trip to Beaverton he decided that playing at Air Force was the best future for himself.
So thankful and blessed to announce that I am committing to the Air Force Academy!! #FlightCrew… http://t.co/vOgOM8Wjyd

Speaking of the Elite 11 the finalists were named following The Opening. Former Irish commit and current Alabama verbal Blake Barnett took home the MVP honors. The rest of the quarterbacks will be participating in Trent Dilfer's camp on August 17th.

After the initial de-commitment of Barnett it didn't look like the communication between the Irish staff and Deondre Francois was all that great. Then it appeared as though Tony Alford established a relationship and got Francois to commit to a visit to South Bend. However, it appears his trip to Notre Dame isn't going to happen as he narrows down his Top 2 among Florida State and Auburn.
For 4-star QB Deondre Francois, it will come down to two (VIP) http://t.co/oTGRYurpaO via @Noles247

As stated in previous Big Board installments if anything is going to happen with the quarterback situation it likely won't occur for a few months and only if some things shake out on the national scene.

At the end of June the Irish finally picked up a much needed running back in the person of (PA) Josh Adams .877 who had visited for the Irish Invasion. On the same day as Adam's announcement (FL) T.J. Simmons .873 gave his verbal to the UCLA Bruins.
Notre Dame is still looking for another tailback and putting a lot of their eggs in the Soso Jamabo basket.

Jamabo visited South Bend before the Irish Invasion and is scheduled to be on campus for an official visit during the Michigan game in week two of this season.
Several other players have been downgraded to Cold in this month's Big Board. There was some speculation about Malik Lovette and Notre Dame over the weekend but it didn't appear to be in truth. Several sources close to the Irish staff indicate he's not quite the fit they're looking for at running back right now.
After saying he'd visit and Notre Dame was one of his top schools it turns out that Ty'Son Williams will in fact not be visiting South Bend. He's looking to stay closer to home and is targeting Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
Jacques Patrick has also been downgraded. He made two separate summer visits to Notre Dame which was very good news. However, he appears to be moving on without considering the Irish. Patrick has recently visited Alabama and Florida State and mentioned that Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, and Texas A&M are among his top schools.
One player who has popped backed up on the radar lately is LSU commit (LA) Nick Brossette .954 who is scheduled to come for an official visit at Notre Dame in the fall. He was one of the early offers in this class and is very coveted by the Irish coaching staff.

Listed as an athlete (DC) Ashton White .862 committed to Notre Dame at the start of the month and projects as a corner or safety for the Irish.
About 10 days ago (OH) Jerome Baker .979 gave his verbal to Florida. Late last night (TX) Louis Brown .880 pledged to Texas and is shutting his recruitment down for good.
Recently, the Irish made the top five for Cameron Scarlett.

Odds are he doesn't leave the West Coast but he sounds very interested in Notre Dame. We'll see how much of a priority he'll remain for the Irish.
