According to a report by Matt Fortuna from ESPN current redshirt sophomore wide receiver DaVaris Daniels will be suspended from Notre Dame for the spring semester because of an academic issue.
Daniels released a statement on the matter:
"I understand that attending the University of Notre Dame is a privilege and with that comes a certain level of academic responsibility. Therefore, I will not be attending Notre Dame in the spring semester but fully expect to re-enroll in the summer semester to earn my degree and continue playing football for the Irish."
The 6'1" wideout finished second on the team in receptions with 49 and will be the leading receiver in the fall with the graduation of T.J. Jones.
The talented product from Illinois has had some ups and downs in his career but has incredible potential and made some big plays for the Fighting Irish. Instead of a spring spent getting re-acclimated with Everett Golson and working on his craft with the team Daniels will have to bide his time before getting back into things during the summer.
Small bump. Not entering the draft. Can't wait to get back with my brothers this summer!
