The final was 83-65, and the game was closer than the score indicated, but not that much closer. The score remained tied most of the first half when UConn went on a run in the last three minutes to end the half up 10.
Notre Dame seemed to lose its composure at times, particularly in the 2nd half, by throwing up prayers for shots. As the 2nd half wore on, UConn gained in energy, outhustling the Irish to get loose balls on several occasions.
It was heartbreaking to see Skylar's last seconds waste away.

Almost everyone, but Skylar, is back next year. In the meantime, thanks to Skylar Diggins for being perhaps the best basketball player in Notre Dame history, except for maybe Austin Carr.
