As winter break rolls on, the Irish earned wins in men’s and women’s basketball (as well as football, happily). All other winter sports resume in January.

Without further ado, we bring you the results of the last week's Irish match-ups.

_____

Men's basketball (8-3) split their matches over the past 2 weeks, first falling in a heartbreaker to no. 3 Ohio State, 64-61, then edging Canisius, 87-81, in OT on Sunday. CW covered the OSU loss right here and 4pointshooter has the story on the Canisius win right here.

The Irish next face Duke at home on Saturday afternoon (4:00 p.m. ET, CBS, WatchND). Next Tuesday, they play North Carolina State in South Bend (9:00 p.m. ET, WatchND, ACC Network).

_____

No. 2 women's basketball (11-0) earned 2 strong wins over the past 2 weeks, first over Central Michigan, 106-72, then over Oregon State, 70-58, in Corvalis on Sunday.

The Irish next face South Dakota State Saturday night at home (7:00 p.m. ET, WatchND). Sunday, they host Clemson (2:00 p.m. ET, WatchND).

Hockey picks back up this week with a game at Boston College. They play Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET (WatchND).

_____

Men's swimming and diving returns to the pool this weekend at the Copa Coqui Meet in Puerto Rico. Not a bad place to visit in January!

_____

We'll bring you updates next week on Notre Dame's Olympic sports as they start to pick back up. For now, go Irish. Beat everybody. And a happy New Year to all!
