Took a look at it from outside looking in & this is what I would want to watch. 10 games vs BCS. 5 ACC, 3 B1G (or BYU) & 2 PAC. 11th game is Navy @ home or neutral site. 12th game is against a small private school to start the season. I don't care much for Oklahoma or Arizona State being on the schedule but I guess there'd be some wiggle room in Week 4 if BYU grew stale.

Start the season at home against a private non-BCS team like the military academies.
Always play Sparty Week 2 & Purdue Week 3. Alternate the home games.
Week 4 rotate Northwestern, Michigan & BYU so you play each 2 times every 6 years. Get the B1G games done early.

Start ACC season the 1st week of October against 1 of the big 3 football schools - FSU, Clemson & Miami. Play each every 3rd year.
Take a week off before playing Stanford or USC at home.
Continue ACC season in Week 8 against the other public football-minded schools - NCST, Louisville & Va Tech. Play each every 3rd year.
Week 9 is always a road game so Week 12 can always be a home game before the season-ending trip to Cali. Ga Tech, Virginia & UNC are a group as the ACC's public Ivys. Instead of playing Duke, Cuse or Wake at their on campus stadium (30k-50k seats), the game moves to a nearby NFL stadium in Charlotte or NYC.

1st week of November is reserved for the Navy game. Either at home or at a neutral site in Baltimore, DC, NYC or Ireland/ London (not listed, 2020). Rotate between those 4 sites.
The 4th ACC game is against Pitt or BC. As Notre Dame's 2 historic rivals in the ACC, they alternate home&home's with the Irish instead of playing every 3rd game like the other 12 teams.
Week 12 is always a home game since Week 13 is always a long road trip. The other group ND will play in Week 9/Week 12 is the private schools - Cuse, Duke & Wake. Play each every 3rd year.
As always, finish the year @ USC or @ Stanford.
Balance of home games - neutral site - away games.
