Happy New Year From One Foot Down

I Am Making This The Official OFD 2012 Holiday Photo - Jonathan Daniel

It has been an unbelievable 2012 for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and our community here at OFD.

I sat down and started this thing we call One Foot Down in January of 2009. At the time Notre Dame was coming off of a 49-21 victory over Hawai'i in the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl and I had little more than a shred of an idea about how to start and operate a blog.

Had you told me then that four years later Notre Dame would be a few days away from playing in the BCS Championship, and that OFD would be finishing up our second season on SBN I would have likely laughed uncontrollably at the absurdity of either suggestion. But here we are.

We would like to wish all of you a very happy and prosperous New Year. Your readership and individual contributions to our never-ending conversation are truly appreciated. We are looking forward to continuing that conversation with all of you for another year.

Be safe out there tonight and be sure to stop by tomorrow to talk bowl games with us!

Go Irish!
