Will Doug Randolph be the next recruit to be IRISH?

Doug Randolph decommits from Stanford and is likely to be number 20 for Brian Kelly and company very soon. While Randolph is not as talented as Jaylon Smith and Alex Anzalone (very few are) he is still a 4 star prospect with talent and gives Notre Dame the best group of LB in the country in my opinion. If you add in in Michael Deeb who is a downhill thumper and rated too low as a 3 star kid and maybe Danny Mattingly who is a better LB prospect than he is a TE and this gives Notre Dame the best LB Class that I can remember.

Notre Dame has maybe 3 more slots to fill and i think that Notre Dame will fill these spots before signing day which could hurt BK but Brian Kelly will not turn away elite talent again. I have already expressed my interest in L.J. Moore and my belief that he will select Notre Dame on or before the Michigan game which will be a huge recruiting game. This is the biggest game on Notre Dame's schedule and has been for the last couple of seasons. If the Irish can find a way to finally beat Michigan they can slow down their recruiting momentum and maybe cause a couple of their elite kids to jump ship.

I am sure you all have read the reports about Mackensie Alexander naming the IRISH as his leader but until he pulls the trigger no one knows what these kids will do. I love Alexander and he could be just as important as Jaylon Smith if he does indeed bring his talents to South Bend. Finally I believe that Khalfani Muhammad will also choose Notre Dame. Muhammad is listed as a RB but would be a slot WR in Kelly's offense giving them a Tavon Austin clone who could pretty much do anything on offense and in the return game. Muhammad is absolutely explosive with the ball in his hands and if you add in Davonte Neal with him and the speed that they could potentially bring to the program it has to put a smile on your face. Muhammad rained down nothing but compliments about this current Irish team and more important Brian Kelly very recently. Brian Kelly is showing that he knows how to build a program and is completely giving this program a complete make over. Looking back at other coaches it's easy to see were past coaches failed in recruiting including Charlie Weis.

While no program will unseat U$C from the their top position in the 2013 recruiting cycle the IRISH could easily be right behind them at number two or three giving how this group of coaches are hitting recruiting.
