Per the original agreements between the schools, there was a schedule break built in for 2018-19 and with Notre Dame opting out for 2015-17, it looks like there will definitely be a full 5-year break in this rivalry.

ESPN has more information on this developing story and some quotes from Michigan AD David Brandon.
"The ball is in their court because they've triggered the three-game notice," he said. "We'll play them next year at Michigan Stadium for the last time in a while -- it appears -- and we'll make our last scheduled trip to South Bend in 2014. There will likely be nothing on the board for five years after that. Beyond that, I don't know what will happen."
This news solidifies the reality that there will be no football games played between Notre Dame and Michigan from 2014 to 2019 and the future after that is uncertain.
Notre Dame's move to the ACC made this news much more likely, but it now appears the Irish will take a break from the Michigan games from 2015 to 2017.
