#NotreDame senior LB Carlo Calabrese & junior QB Tommy Rees have both been suspended for the opening game of the season by Brian Kelly.

Cue up Goldrix. It sounds like they will at least get a 1 game head start. I will be very curious to see how this translates to the number of reps that each QB gets during camp. That could really make all the difference. I could see CBK limiting Rees' reps to get Goldrix "ready to play." The full statement from CBK was a series of 5 Tweets from Hardin that I pieced together below.
Quote from Brian Kelly: "Our players understand that it's a privilege to be associated with the University of Notre Dame and its football program, but with that comes great responsibility. Carlo and Tommy put themselves in a situation that when given a choice between two distinct paths, they responded with a set of poor decisions. This conduct was inconsistent with my expectations for our football program - especially our veteran, team leaders. Carlo and Tommy will not travel with the team to Ireland and can attempt to climb the depth chart following the conclusion of their respective suspensions." End of quote from Brian Kelly on Calabrese and Rees suspensions.
