Coach Brian Kelly received his 4th verbal commitment for the 2013 class today in OT Colin McGovern (New Lenox, IL - Lincoln Way West). McGovern gave his pledge following Junior Day and is listed at 6'6" and 295 lbs.
McGovern also had offers from Alabama, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan and Nebraska among others. Here is a little Twitter quote for you:
McGovern: As the day went on, my love for Notre Dame got stronger.

Since McGovern plays offensive line, it is likely that he sits out his first year to spend time working on strength/conditioning as well as refining technique.
Colin is listed between 6’6" and 6’7" on the various websites and is already near college weight for his position. On film, he does a great job of engaging the defender and then putting them on their backside. He moves well in space (a requirement to play OL for Brian Kelly) and has shown that he plays to the whistle.
The one real question that I have is where does he project at the college level? His frame says tackle, but I think his ability to move might see him as more of a guard at the next level. Regardless, he adds some solid depth to a position of need and will compete for playing time soon.
Welcome to Notre Dame Colin!
