Not a Notre Dame fan, but figured I'd pop in and say "Howdy" before the big game this week. OU/ND haven't played many times, but ND has owned the series except for one royal stomping by OU. The last team to beat OU before it's 47 game win streak started was ND, and a loss to ND ended the same streak. No hard feelings, the streak ended a decade before I was born! I have a funny story about that which may just be a myth, but you guys might enjoy it.
OU had won 47 games in a row and looked pretty unstoppable, when a 4-2 ND team visited Norman to play 7-0 OU. The story goes that the ND team got off the bus in Norman, Oklahoma and there was a crying Mexican woman sitting on a bench. Coach Brennan went over the the woman (with his team gathering around him) and asked what was the problem. The woman said that she was being persecuted by the Okies because she was Catholic. The enraged team played over their heads and stopped OU's streak, 7-0. Supposedly years later Brennan admitted the woman was an actress he hired to fire the team up. All's fair, I guess.
Anyway, I dislike ND quite a bit (not related to the above story, which I actually enjoy), but I'm really looking forward to this game. I'm looking forward to OU playing against an elite defense, and also looking forward to OU's defense facing a power running game. Truth be told, I'm expecting OU to lay the wood to the Irish. On the other hand, this IS Notre Dame, so nothing would surprise me.
Good luck in the game, and if you guys have any questions about the Sooners let me know.
