National Signing Day Extravaganza Information
National Signing Day is next week on Wednesday February 1st.
As this is a very important day for every college football program, One Foot Down will be running an open thread all day to cover the incoming 2012 class.
Next week, head over to und.com to follow all of the coverage from the Guglielmino Complex.
It all starts at 7 AM ET and will run into the afternoon.
Brian Kelly's press conference is scheduled for 1 PM ET.
We will be here for the entire duration of the coverage, so stop by and join us.
It looks as if the coverage from South Bend will be very similar to last year.
The crew at the Gug will break down each player, look at some film, and keep track of all the faxes as they come in. There will also be interviews with coaches, ending with Kelly's comments on the 2012 class.
What surprises will we see? Will there be any disappointments?
Tune in and hang out in the open thread next Wednesday to find out.

i've been praying for nelson since the beginning of all this
may my prayers be answered with a “YES”
I agree that he would be a great get, but
I am actually more intrigued by Neal. I have watched his highlights tapes and am blown away by how explosive he could be with the football in space. Let’s be really honest though, I would be ecstatic if either one of these guys signs with ND.

Someone give me a realistic view of how likely we are to get these two.
Please?

Not very.
Now you’re prepared for the worst. You’re welcome. If the staff does pull something out of its collective hindparts, it’s gravy. This is already a strong class, so we have our biscuits. It’s nice to eat your biscuits with gravy, but you can do without.

Greenberry is adding some suspense to NSD.
Irish Illustrated is reporting that he is taking a surprise visit to Houston because his primary recruiter at ASU was Jamie Christian who has been hired by Houston as their WR’s coach. A source has told Irish Illustrated that ND is confident that Greenberry will sign with the Irish but it has given the staff pause.
Not a chance that he would sign elsewhere and mess over Tee like that…..at least I hope.
Still in the running?
Is ND still in the running for Arik? I heard it was just down to Cal, Wash, Oregon
Just went to IrishEyes and IrishIlustrated both have him still choosing among
ND, Oregon, Cal, Washington and Auburn
we're still in the running...
but it’s tough to get hopes up right now, i thought we would have him if his brother was going to be medically cleared to play by the university but that looks extremely unlikely right now and those around him – including the sacramento bee reporter (forget his name) – all feel like he’s likely to stay west.

Thanks
Great, thanks for looking into that Bill, fingers crossed. I am just hoping for 1 surprise (good) on Wednesday.
Armstead to Oregon
Interesting how Chip Kelly’s flirtation with the NFL didn’t hurt in the end. At least he isn’t going to USC…

Blogs? No...
but I do read some message boards…not going to share which ones though, b/c then you guys would cut out the middle man.
Seriously though, there are people that got way too worked up about DGb taking a last-minute OV to Houston…
