Doctors appointed to evaluate Corwin Brown: Football head trauma at root of case, attorney says.
Former Notre Dame assistant football coach Corwin Brown will be evaluated by two doctors as part of his insanity defense plea, which his lawyer says is connected to head injuries received during his football playing days. St. Joseph Superior Court Judge Jane Woodward Miller appointed a psychiatrist and a psychologist to evaluate Brown, who is accused of accused of striking his wife and confining her inside their Granger home while he was armed with a deadly weapon. Police staged outside for nearly seven hours before Brown shot himself in the stomach and surrendered, according to court documents.
