Around SBN: Will Rhymes 'Fine' After Being Hit By Pitch And Fainting

Notre Dame vs. Miami 2010 Sun Bowl

Notre Dame will play the Miami Hurricanes in the 2010 Sun Bowl.

This will be the teams' first ever meeting in a bowl game.

Star-divide

The three game series between these schools starts in a couple years, but we will have to play this one first.

The Irish haven't played Miami since 1990, when the No. 6 Irish beat the No. 2 Hurricanes 29-20 in South Bend.

Notre Dame leads the all-time series 15-7-1.

We'll have much more on this matchup in the coming days and weeks...

You haven’t been guilty of it here, but I think the farther we spread this idea the better:

The ND fan base really needs to let go of “Catholics vs. Convicts”. Let’s go out and kick butt and be proud without being condescending. People who live in glass houses…

Catholics vs Coachless

The Coach and I will be in attendance. Good stuff.

AK Matt,

That tag doesn’t do much for me, but I don’t have a problem with it really. Back in the 80’s it really did make sense.

Watching the ESPN 30 for 30 special “The U” it’s shocking how little student there was in the student-athlete at Miami. And the worst part is that they laugh it all off, “yeah we broke the rules, got paid, robbed people…what!”

The funniest part is when they introduced the 1988 game, calling us the “little Irish people” and how much they hated us, then whining about the loss.

And then listening to Bernie Kosar (who I’ve always liked) say that the Catholics vs. Convicts label didn’t make sense because he was Catholic and so were some players on Miami. And the atmosphere and crowd in South Bend was the most un-Christian place you’ll ever go.

Riiiiiiiiight.

Whiskey,

That’s awesome that it worked out for you and the Coach.

Have a blast…let’s hope this isn’t the last game Floyd or Rudy play.

Count me in. I’m hyped. Weather in El Paso – highs 60s, lows 30s, clear.

I think Steve Walsh, Miami’s QB in the Catholics vs. Convicts 1988, believed Miami had more Catholics on their team than ND did.

So this is the Catholics VS Rehabilitated Convicts game…?
